Fulham Manager Marco Silva Charged by FA for Comments on Referee
Fulham manager Marco Silva has been charged by the Football Association (FA) for his comments about the referee in the team’s recent 3-0 loss against Newcastle. The FA alleges that Silva’s remarks constitute improper conduct and bring the game into disrepute.
Controversial Incident Involving Raul Jimenez
During the match, Fulham striker Raul Jimenez was sent off, and Silva expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee’s decision not to take any action against Jamaal Lascelles, who had caught Jimenez just two minutes earlier. Silva believed that Lascelles should have also faced disciplinary action.
FA’s Allegations Against Silva
The FA stated that Silva’s post-match interviews contained comments that implied bias, questioned the integrity of the match official, and were insulting towards the referee. These alleged remarks are considered improper conduct and could bring the game into disrepute.
Deadline for Response
Silva has until Monday, 8 January to respond to the charges brought against him by the FA.
