Fulham Interested in Loan Move for Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah
Fulham is considering a loan move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah this month. However, they face competition from Tottenham, Bayern Munich, and Roma, who are also tracking the center-back.
The 24-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury this season but is expected to return to fitness soon. Despite his recovery, Chalobah’s chances of breaking into the Chelsea first team seem slim, with Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, and Benoit Badiashile ahead of him in the pecking order. Levi Colwill, who has been playing at left-back, and the injured Wesley Fofana are also preferred options.
Chelsea is looking to raise funds to balance their books after significant spending in the past 18 months. They also want to bolster their transfer budget for a striker. Selling homegrown talent like Chalobah would help them comply with the Premier League’s financial regulations. As a result, Chalobah is likely to leave either this month or in the summer.
Fulham has expressed interest in securing Chalobah on loan, according to The Daily Mail. Bayern Munich, Tottenham, and Roma are also monitoring the defender’s situation.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed claims that he has frozen out Chalobah, stating that the player remains part of his plans. Pochettino said, “Trevoh Chalobah is in my plans, no one else is going to make decisions for me. I have enough knowledge to be involved in a decision. Everyone in the squad is part of my plans.”
Fulham is also reportedly interested in Chelsea striker Armando Broja, with Wolves also keen on the Albanian international. However, Chelsea has set a £50m price tag on Broja, making a January move unlikely.
