France 4-1 Australia LIVE REACTION: Olivier Giroud levels Thierry Henry scoring record for Les Bleus as ‘electric’ Kylian Mbappe stars for World Cup holders who survive early scare

Olivier Giroud has equalled Thierry Henry’s scoring record for France as the holders beat Australia 4-1 in Qatar.

The striker scored his 50th and 51st goal for his country to become Les Bleus’ joint all-time top scorer.

Didier Deschamps’ side survived an early scare after they went a goal down to the Socceroos but their class shone through in the end.

Kylian Mbappe grabbed a goal and an assist while Adrien Rabiot netted on his World Cup debut.

France now top Group D after the win, moving above Denmark and Tunisia following their 0-0 draw.
