Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is reportedly considering replacing Luciano Spalletti as head coach, just weeks after securing the Serie A title. Talks over Spalletti’s contract extension have stalled, leading to De Laurentiis cutting off all contact with the coach and considering his dismissal. Several candidates are being lined up to replace Spalletti, including former Liverpool and Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez, who has reportedly been contacted over taking over. Benitez previously managed Napoli in 2013 before resigning and becoming Real Madrid manager. Napoli lifted their first Serie A title in 33 years earlier this month.
