Footballers Ronnie Vint and Ayo Odukoya have decided to put their pre-season preparations on hold to join the Love Island Villa this summer. This is not the first time that Lewes FC has had a player leave the club to participate in the popular reality show. Last year, midfielder Tyrique Hyde left the squad to compete on Love Island and achieved a third-place finish.
Ronnie Vint, a 27-year-old centre-back for Lewes FC, made the decision to temporarily sideline his football career in pursuit of finding love on the show. Vint joined Lewes last summer from Dulwich Hamlet and has an indirect connection to the Love Island villa through his close friendship with former Sunderland midfielder Bradley Dack and his wife Olivia Attwood, who previously appeared on the show.
Meanwhile, Ayo Odukoya, a 25-year-old striker for Redbridge, will also be joining this year’s Love Island cohort. Redbridge confirmed Odukoya’s participation in the show, jokingly stating that they hadn’t been able to contact him for the past few days, which now makes sense. Odukoya had a successful season with Redbridge, scoring eight goals in 38 appearances and helping the team win the Essex Senior Cup.
Both Vint and Odukoya are excited about the opportunity to find love on Love Island. Odukoya expressed his desire to have a genuine connection with someone and emphasized his preference for indoor activities over being outdoors. He believes that finding love again would be an amazing experience.
It’ll be interesting to see how these footballers navigate the challenges and romances of the Love Island Villa. Will they find true love or will their football careers take precedence once again? Only time will tell.
