# Joe Worrall: From Nottingham Forest Fan to Club Captain
Joe Worrall is the captain of Nottingham Forest and a lifelong fan of the club. He talks to Football Focus about his journey in football, his earliest memories as a Forest fan, and playing cricket at Headingley.
## Joe Worrall’s Early Years
Joe Worrall was born and raised in Nottingham, England. He grew up supporting Nottingham Forest and was a regular at the City Ground. His earliest memory of the club was when they won the League Cup in 1989. He was just five years old at the time and remembers being taken to the game by his dad.
## Joe Worrall’s Football Career
Joe Worrall began his football career at Nottingham Forest’s academy in 2005. He progressed through the ranks and made his first-team debut in 2015. He quickly established himself as a key player for the club and was made captain in 2019.
Joe has also represented England at youth level, winning the U17 European Championship in 2014. He was part of the U21 squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2017 European Championship.
## Joe Worrall’s Other Interests
As well as football, Joe Worrall is an avid cricket fan. He has played cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and has even played at Headingley. He also enjoys playing golf and is a keen supporter of Manchester United.
