Reims has announced that English-Belgian coach Will Still has signed a new contract with the French side until the summer of 2025. Still is considered one of Europe’s most promising managers, having risen from video analyst to first-team manager at a rapid pace. He previously managed Lierse and Beerschot in Belgium before being appointed as head coach of Ligue 1 team Reims in October last year. Despite concerns about relegation, Reims is currently sitting in 11th place in Ligue 1 with the opportunity to secure a top-half finish with a win over Montpellier in their final match. Still has also appointed his 26-year-old brother, Nicolas, as his assistant manager.
Still has become something of a cult hero among supporters due to his love for Football Manager and not yet holding a UEFA Pro Licence. As a result, Reims had to pay £22,000 for every match he oversaw in the dugout. However, Still has now started the course at the National Football Centre near Brussels and visits on a monthly basis. He confirmed on talkSPORT that Reims is no longer paying the fine as the Pro Licence course has begun, although he has not yet completed it.
