AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori insists he’s comfortable with the £28m fee that the Italians paid Chelsea for his services this summer and says Olivier Giroud will prove an important signing for the club.
The English defender spent last season on loan at the San Siro and the Serie A giants activated an option-to-buy clause in their contract with Chelsea which saw Tomori join the club this summer for a fee of £28.5m.
That fee makes Tomori one of the most expensive English central defenders of all-time but the defender insists he’s comfortable with the price tag.
‘No burdens, it is a great satisfaction to feel this trust around me,’ Tomori said.
‘Everyone is helping me.
‘I understood it immediately: Milan is the right place for me.’
Tomori has since been joined in Milan by former team-mate Giroud.
The Frenchman fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge following Thomas Tuchel’s appointment and Tomori believes the forward can bring a lot to the side.
‘A very kind person as well as a great forward,’ said Tomori.
‘He has immense experience, he has played in great teams, always scoring a lot and above all winning a lot.
‘He will help us.’
