Justin Bijlow Open to Manchester United Move, but Focused on Feyenoord
Justin Bijlow, the talented goalkeeper for Feyenoord, has not ruled out the possibility of a move to Manchester United this summer. However, he remains focused on his current club and is committed to giving his best for Feyenoord.
After the departure of David de Gea, Manchester United is in need of a new goalkeeper. They are currently in talks to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan, but a fee has yet to be agreed upon. Bijlow is one of the options being considered by United as they search for a new shot stopper.
Feyenoord is determined to hold onto their number one goalkeeper and is already discussing an improved contract with Bijlow. Recent reports have suggested that Bijlow would “love” to make the move to Manchester United, but he will not force a transfer and will continue to act professionally as long as Feyenoord’s stance remains the same.
Bijlow recently captained Feyenoord in their pre-season match against Club Brugge, which they won 2-0. When asked about interest from Manchester United, Bijlow responded with a smile, saying, “We’ll see.” He then reaffirmed his commitment to Feyenoord and stated that he does not want to talk about other clubs out of respect for his current team.
He expressed his satisfaction with Feyenoord, saying that the feeling is always good at the club and it’s never a punishment to be there. He also mentioned his ambition to go for the highest achievable and acknowledged that he may take a step in the future. However, for now, he is focused on playing for Feyenoord.
Manchester United has made contact with Feyenoord regarding a potential move for Bijlow. The club’s manager, Erik ten Hag, knows Bijlow well from his time in the Eredivisie. Talks to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan are still ongoing, with the Italian club holding out for a fee of £51 million. The two clubs are working to find a compromise after a previous offer of £38.5 million was rejected.
In United’s opening pre-season game against Leeds United, Tom Heaton started in goal, with 23-year-old Matej Kovar coming on for the second half. Nathan Bishop is the only other fit goalkeeper available, as Dean Henderson is still working his way back to full fitness. Henderson is expected to join Nottingham Forest, but the deal will not progress until United have signed a new number one goalkeeper.
In addition to Bijlow, United has reportedly shown interest in signing Zion Suzuki, a promising Japanese goalkeeper.
While Bijlow remains open to a move to Manchester United, he is currently focused on Feyenoord and giving his best for the club. Talks continue between United and Feyenoord, as well as with Inter Milan for the potential signing of Andre Onana. United is determined to secure a new goalkeeper before the start of the season, and fans eagerly await news of any signings.
