The Football Association (FA) has charged Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp with improper conduct following his verbal attack on referee Paul Tierney after Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday. Klopp faces a heavy fine and touchline ban for accusing Tierney of having an agenda against the Reds. The FA alleges that Klopp’s comments imply bias, question the integrity of the referee, are personal/offensive and bring the game into disrepute. Klopp has until Friday to respond to the charges. Tottenham caretaker manager Ryan Mason also criticised Tierney for not sending off Liverpool’s match-winner Diogo Jota for catching Oliver Skipp in the head with his boots.
