Manchester United Players Complain About Tight Adidas Kits

Manchester United players have expressed their dissatisfaction with certain items of their Adidas kits, claiming that they are too tight to wear during matches. The stitching on the home socks and the goalkeeper jersey has been identified as problematic by some players. In fact, some players have resorted to cutting holes in the back of the fabric to alleviate the tightness.

According to sources familiar with the issue, the stitching of the club’s devil logo on the socks is responsible for the uncomfortable fit. In response, Adidas has temporarily replaced the socks with identical ones that do not feature the logo. However, the stitching will be rectified at a later date to ensure a more comfortable fit.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana has also encountered issues with his jersey. Adidas had received feedback from Manchester United’s goalkeepers last season, expressing their desire for a tighter jersey. However, Onana, who recently joined the club from Inter Milan, prefers a looser version and has switched to a replica kit for now. Adidas is working on a long-term solution and plans to provide Onana with a custom-made shirt.

The kit-related problems faced by Manchester United are expected to be resolved by the end of the year, if not by the end of November. It is crucial for the players to have comfortable and well-fitting kits to perform at their best on the field.

Manchester United is not the only Premier League club to encounter kit issues this season. Aston Villa’s men’s and women’s players have reported that their Castore shirts become heavy during matches, affecting their performance. The women’s team also raised concerns about the shirts leaving large sweat patches. On the other hand, Newcastle United, who had been supplied by Castore since 2021-22, has reached an agreement with Adidas to provide their new apparel from 2024-25.

Despite these kit-related challenges, Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their recent 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup fourth round. Manager Erik ten Hag remains confident in his team’s ability to overcome their poor form. He acknowledges the high stakes and pressure associated with Manchester United but believes that the team has the talent and attitude to turn things around.

Ten Hag stated, “While this has not been the start to the season that we had all hoped for, I am certain that we have the talent and attitude as a collective to move in the right direction. I believe that it is only a matter of time before we are showing our true selves. It will come, I am certain.”

In conclusion, Manchester United players have raised concerns about the tightness of certain items in their Adidas kits. The club and Adidas are working to address these issues and provide the players with more comfortable and well-fitting apparel. Kit-related challenges have also been experienced by other Premier League clubs, highlighting the importance of quality kits for optimal performance on the field. Despite these challenges, Manchester United remains determined to improve their form and achieve success in the upcoming matches.
