Luke Chadwick, a former Manchester United player, has been spotted with a completely different look. The 42-year-old, who played for the club between 1999 and 2004, was seen with a bald head and bushy beard. Chadwick recently recalled the first goal he ever scored for the club, which was assisted by David Beckham in a 3-0 win against Bradford in 2001. Reflecting on the memorable moment, he said, “Becks with the through ball, what a combination.” The win proved vital as Manchester United went on to win the title that year, with Chadwick picking up a Premier League winners medal.
Chadwick scored two goals for Manchester United in 39 appearances across four seasons before leaving on a permanent basis to join West Ham in 2004. Prior to that, he was loaned out to Royal Antwerp, Reading and Burnley. He also played for Stoke and Norwich before spending most of his time with MK Dons, where he picked up two players of the year trophies. Chadwick ended his career at Cambridge United.
Despite his success on the pitch, Chadwick has previously spoken about being terrified of Roy Keane when he was breaking into the United first-team. However, he has fond memories of his time at the club and winning the Premier League.
Chadwick’s new look has caused quite a stir among fans, who have been quick to comment on social media. Some have praised his new style, while others have expressed surprise at how different he looks. However, Chadwick seems to be taking it all in his stride and has not commented on the reaction.
The former midfielder is not the only ex-Manchester United player to undergo a dramatic transformation in recent years. Former striker Wayne Rooney has also been seen with a new look, sporting a shaved head and beard. Rooney, who is now playing for Derby County, has previously spoken about his hair loss and how he has had hair transplants to try and combat it.
Chadwick’s new look may be a surprise to some, but it is clear that he is still remembered fondly by Manchester United fans. His goal against Bradford may have been over 20 years ago, but it is still a moment that is talked about today. Chadwick’s contribution to the club may have been small in terms of goals scored, but he is still a part of Manchester United’s history and will always be remembered as a Premier League winner.
