Making just his second appearance for the club, the 25-year-old was given a real chance to impress against fierce rivals Real Madrid, something that he did after 27 minutes.

Intercepting a pass from Real’s Eder Militao, Raphinha put the ball onto his left foot and arrowed a fierce left-footed effort into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.

A goal worthy of winning any match, Raphinha’s strike earned Barcelona a 1-0 victory in Las Vegas, his second goal in two appearances since moving to the Catalan giants.

The contest also saw Robert Lewandowski make his debut for Barcelona, following his move from Barcelona.

Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also featured for Xavi’s side.

In typical El Classico fashion, it wasn’t all glitz and glamour though as tempers flared between the two teams.

The incident came shortly before half time when Vinicius Jr showcased his outstanding ability by running from within the Real Madrid half and towards the Barcelona penalty area.

After evading two sliding challenges, the young forward was brought down by Jordi Alba on the edge of the area, with the wing-back immediately booked by the referee.

In the aftermath, Sergio Busquets and Vinicius exchanged words, leading to pushing, shoving and a large scale altercation between the two fierce rivals.

Both sets of players calmed down before things got too heated, but it’s proof that even in the safe environment of a friendly fixture these two teams are among the fiercest of rivals.
