To the surprise of absolutely nobody in world football, Erling Haaland has scored goals at a phenomenal rate since joining Manchester City last summer.

The 32 goals Haaland has managed in the Premier League so far this year would already be enough to claim the Golden Boot in each of the previous four seasons in the competition.

And with 47 strikes amassed in all competitions to date, the Norwegian could even reach 70 goals this season if he keeps up his historic pace.

Let’s take a look at the records Haaland has already equaled or broken so far this season.

Which records has Erling Haaland equaled or broken this season?

Haaland’s 32 goals in the Premier League this season has seen him draw level with Mohamed Salah for the most goals scored in a single 38-game campaign in the competition’s history.

However, Haaland is still two short of the 34 goals managed by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole in 1994/95 and 1993/94 respecitvely, back in the days when each club played 42 games in the competition.

With the 47 goals netted in all matches for The Citizens this season, the 22 year-old holds the outright record for the most goals scored by a Premier League player in all competitions in a single season.

Haaland’s impressive list of records also includes becoming the first player in Premier League history to score 20 goals before January – despite the fact the league stopped for six weeks whilst the World Cup took place in Qatar.

The striker smashed the record for the fewest number of games required to score three hat-tricks in the Premier League, comfortably beating the previous record of 48 matches by Michael Owen.

Haaland became the fastest player to score 25 goals under Pep Guardiola, in 20 games, which is eight fewer than Lionel Messi required to reach that tally under the Catalan at Barcelona.
