Everton vs Chelsea LIVE: Sterling goal ruled out for offside on lively debut as Godfrey suffers horror injury – Toffees have remarkable opening day record but Blues look to pile pressure on Lampard

The first Saturday of the new season will conclude at Goodison Park this evening as Frank Lampard’s Everton host Chelsea.

The Toffees endured a torrid campaign last term which saw Rafa Benitez sacked in January before Lampard did just enough to keep them in the Premier League.

    • Everton XI: Pickford, Tarkowski, Mina, Godfrey, Patterson, Doucoure, Iwobi, Mykolenko, McNeil, Gordon, Gray.
    • Subs: Begovic, Holgate, Keane, Allan, Alli, Gbamin, Vinagre, Warrington, Mills.
    • Chelsea XI: Mendy, Silva, Azpilicueta, Koulibaly, James, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Chilwell, Sterling, Havertz.
    • Subs: Kepa, Kovacic, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah, Broja, Ziyceh, Gallagher, Cucurella.
