Erling Haaland Praises Manchester United Star’s Improvement
Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland has voiced his support for fellow striker Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United. Despite a mixed debut season, Haaland believes that Hojlund has shown great promise and has improved throughout the campaign.
Hojlund made a high-profile move from Atalanta to United last summer, with high expectations placed upon him. However, the 21-year-old initially struggled to find his form in Manchester. It wasn’t until Boxing Day that he scored his first goal in the Premier League, a dramatic late winner against Aston Villa.
The goal gave Hojlund a much-needed boost of confidence, and he went on to score seven goals in his next seven appearances for the Red Devils. Unfortunately, he has missed the club’s last three matches due to injury.
There is hope that Hojlund will recover from his muscle problem and feature in the upcoming match against Everton. After United’s painful derby defeat, he will undoubtedly be eager to make an impact on the pitch.
Haaland, who scored the final goal in the derby against United, spoke highly of Hojlund’s resilience after a difficult start in English football. He stated that Hojlund had shown improvement and proved himself to be a good player, especially during their encounter on the pitch.
When asked if he had been in contact with Hojlund during their time together in Manchester, Haaland simply replied, “No.”
Haaland himself experienced a moment of fallibility during the derby when he missed what many consider to be the miss-of-the-season. However, he took it lightly and joked about it during a press conference. He acknowledged that while he is known for scoring goals, he still has room for improvement and will continue to miss chances as well.
In his debut season in Manchester, Haaland broke the record for the most goals in a single Premier League campaign and helped City secure a historic treble. When asked how he stays motivated after such tremendous success, he explained that he is driven by the desire to win again. Despite his young age of 23, he has already tasted victory and wants to experience it again.
City currently hold a 3-1 lead over Copenhagen heading into their Champions League second leg match. With an unbeaten streak of 19 games in all competitions, they are aiming for their fifth consecutive victory.
