Erling Haaland Abandons Wing Position After Selling Private Plane
The talented 23-year-old Manchester City star, Erling Haaland, has made a significant change this season by discontinuing his use of the wing position. This decision comes after he sold his private plane, a Piper Malibu, which he co-owned with his father, Alfie, and two partners.
Haaland’s decision to part ways with his private plane, which was purchased for just under £2 million in 2021, marks a significant change in his lifestyle. The buyer, Eckhoff Johansen, a prominent gun silencer tycoon, revealed that he paid a substantial amount above the original purchase price.
Currently, the Piper M600 is priced at £3 million for a new purchase. Haaland and his father held a 37.5% stake in the company that owned the six-seater aircraft.
A source close to Haaland and his father stated, “Erling and Alfie have enjoyed their time with the plane. However, as multi-millionaires, they can easily afford to charter a private plane without the hassle of ownership. It’s an added bonus that they were able to sell it for more than its original price – that’s good business!”
During the Christmas period, Haaland has been recovering from a stress injury to his foot, which has kept him out of the Manchester City side for several weeks.
