Erling Haaland Breaks Mohamed Salah’s Premier League Record

Erling Haaland has broken Mohamed Salah’s record of 32 goals in a 38-game Premier League season, scoring his 33rd goal for Man City in their 4-1 win against Arsenal. Haaland has now scored 49 goals in 42 games in all competitions this season, averaging a goal every 70.4 minutes in the league. Salah is still performing well, with 26 goals in all competitions and four more would mean he has scored 20 or more Premier League goals in five of his six campaigns since joining Liverpool. Salah has also scored 183 times for the Reds in 299 matches, the joint-sixth most in Liverpool history alongside Robbie Fowler. Although Haaland’s numbers are impressive, it is almost impossible for him to reach Dixie Dean’s record of 60 league goals, scored across 39 matches for Everton in the 1927/28 top-flight season.
