Manchester United midfielder Fred could be on his way to Premier League rivals Fulham as United prepare an opening bid for Chelsea star Mason Mount. United boss Erik ten Hag is willing to let Fred leave as he looks to balance the books and keep the bulk of his £100m budget for a new striker. The Brazilian has a year left on his contract at Old Trafford and has fallen out of favour under Ten Hag, despite providing a sublime assist for Bruno Fernandes in the win against Fulham. Mount, who has a year left on his Chelsea deal, is said to be emotional about leaving Stamford Bridge and has reportedly expressed a preference for joining United over Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool.
