Manchester United wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho has been denied a spot in the first team dressing room, with Erik ten Hag keen to keep the teenager’s feet on the ground.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season at Old Trafford and he’s been a regular feature in recent weeks.

The former Atletico Madrid ace was the standout performer as United won the FA Youth Cup last season but he had to wait for his chance in the first team this season.

Ten Hag was unimpressed with the winger’s attitude in training and wanted to see an improvement before he had the chance to showcase his obvious talent.

Garnacho has taken that opportunity with both hands, scoring a fantastic goal in a Europa League win against Real Sociedad and providing two assists in 4-2 win against Aston Villa on Thursday.

There’s no denying the Argentine’s talent but United are wary of giving too much too soon to the winger and the Daily Mail say Garnacho is yet to have a spot in the first team dressing room approved.

The move is designed to keep Garnacho on his toes and to ensure that he doesn’t rest on his laurels.

Nevertheless, the youngster could be in line for a start today against Fulham as United are set to be without Cristiano Ronaldo, Antony and Jadon Sancho.

Anthony Martial is in line to start after playing 60 minutes against Aston Villa on Thursday.
