England Take on Ukraine in Euro 2024 Qualifier: Where to Watch and What to Expect
England are back in Euro 2024 qualifying action this weekend when they take on Ukraine. Gareth Southgate’s latest squad of 26 players will be looking to maintain their perfect record in qualifying, with four wins from four seeing them perched atop of Group C. The Three Lions head into the game six points ahead of Saturday’s hosts, albeit with Ukraine having played one game less. But more importantly, they sit nine points ahead of third-placed Italy, who themselves have two games in hand on England, with only the top two sides qualifying automatically for next year’s tournament.
Victory against a talented Ukrainian outfit will put England on the brink of qualification, with two relatively straightforward games at home to Malta and then away to North Macedonia following the visit of Italy to Wembley in October. However, due to obvious reasons, Ukraine will not be able to count on home advantage on Saturday and the match will instead take place at a neutral venue. Read on to find out where England will play Ukraine this weekend.
When is Ukraine vs England?
The game will take place on Saturday, September 9 at 5pm BST.
England beat Ukraine 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Wembley back in March courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
Where will England play Ukraine?
England will play Ukraine at the Stadion Miejski Wrocław in Wrocław, Poland.
The stadium was build for Euro 2012 when Poland was co-hosting the tournament alongside Ukraine. Polish Ekstraklasa side Śląsk Wrocław usually play in the 45,000 capacity venue. It is the third biggest stadium in Poland behind Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw and the Stadion Śląski in Chorzów.
Since the invasion in February 2022, the Ukrainian national team have played in a range of different venues across Poland and Slovakia.
How to watch on TV
