Eintracht Frankfurt Confident of Signing Donny van de Beek from Manchester United
Eintracht Frankfurt boss Markus Krosche expresses confidence in signing Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek during the January transfer window.
The Underwhelming Spell at Old Trafford
Donny van de Beek’s time at Old Trafford has been disappointing since his arrival from Ajax with a stellar reputation.
Despite high expectations, the 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact, making only 62 appearances since his move in 2020.
Van de Beek has failed to convince both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag that he deserves a place in the first team, with just one Premier League appearance this season.
Impending Move to Frankfurt
Reports suggest that a deal to take Van de Beek to Eintracht Frankfurt is nearly finalized, and Krosche confirms their intention to sign the Dutchman.
Krosche states, “I’m very confident that Donny will be with us for the next six months. We still need quality across the board, and Donny can certainly help us with that.”
The move to Eintracht Frankfurt is expected to be confirmed within the next two weeks when the transfer window reopens on January 1, 2024.
The deal is likely to be an initial loan, but Frankfurt has the option to make it a permanent transfer for a fee of €15 million (£12.8m).
Van de Beek previously went on loan to Everton in the 2021-22 season but had limited success, making only seven league appearances.
Club Positions
Frankfurt currently sits sixth in the Bundesliga after a recent 2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.
Manchester United, on the other hand, sits seventh in the Premier League, having won just one of their last four top-flight games.
