PHILADELPHIA – Dallas Goedert, tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles, has sustained a fracture in his right forearm during Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Sources have revealed that Goedert will undergo an MRI on Monday to assess the extent of the damage.
Regardless of the results, it is expected that Goedert will miss a significant amount of time and may be placed on the injured reserve list.
Goedert’s Injury Details
The injury occurred in the third quarter when Goedert caught a short pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts and made a 28-yard gain along the left sideline. Safety Markquese Bell tackled Goedert by grabbing his right arm, causing his weight to land on the injured arm as they fell to the ground.
Goedert was unable to return to the game and finished with three catches for 50 yards. Jack Stoll took over in Goedert’s absence, while Albert Okwuegbunam, acquired from the Denver Broncos in August, made his debut for the Eagles and played six snaps.
Grant Calcaterra, who suffered a concussion in Week 9 against the Washington Commanders, was also sidelined for Sunday’s game.
Goedert’s Season Performance
Dallas Goedert, a second-round pick in the 2018 draft, has been a key player for the Eagles this season. He has recorded 35 catches for 360 yards and two touchdowns. However, Goedert’s season was marred by a previous injury last year, where he missed five games due to a fracture in his left shoulder.
As the Eagles await the results of Goedert’s MRI, they will need to make adjustments to their tight end position to compensate for his absence. The team hopes for a speedy recovery for Goedert as they continue their season.
