Dortmund Sell Bellingham to Real Madrid

Date:

Jude Bellingham is set to join Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for an eight-figure fee. Dortmund confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, stating that Bellingham is “close” to joining the Spanish giants for a fee of €103 million (£88.5m) plus up to €30.9 million (£26.5m) in add-ons over a six-year period. This could bring the total fee paid to Dortmund to £115 million. Liverpool had been expected to sign Bellingham earlier in the summer, but the finances involved in the deal led them to remove themselves from the equation and instead target multiple midfielders for a similar, combined price tag. The Reds have since signed Alexis Mac Allister for as little as £35 million and are expected to sign at least two more midfielders, with Mason Mount considered a primary target alongside Bellingham, but a move for the Chelsea midfielder may also be too costly for Liverpool to justify.
