Dominik Szoboszlai Set to Join Liverpool in €70 Million Transfer
Liverpool have activated the €70m (£60.1m) release clause in Dominik Szoboszlai’s contract with RB Leipzig and the midfielder is set to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Anfield. Szoboszlai has been one of RB Leipzig’s standout performers over the past two seasons and has already expressed his admiration for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Newcastle United had also expressed an interest in signing Szoboszlai, but they are now prioritising a deal for AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali.
Szoboszlai’s Admiration for Jurgen Klopp
Dominik Szoboszlai has previously hailed Jurgen Klopp as ‘the best manager’ and it appears that the Liverpool manager has played a huge factor in the midfielder’s decision to join the Premier League.
‘I really like Klopp, the kind of person he is,’ Szoboszlai told Csisztu Sport Cast in 2020. ‘The way he fires up his whole team is incredible. He can get them back up from zero and help them achieve anything. For me, he is the best manager.’
Szoboszlai’s Career Achievements
Szoboszlai has been one of RB Leipzig’s most important players over the past two seasons, scoring 10 goals and registering 13 assists in all competitions. During his time with the German club, Szoboszlai has helped them win back to back German Cups.
