Former Liverpool player Didi Hamann has suggested that Liverpool should focus on signing Newcastle United’s Joelinton instead of Mason Mount in the upcoming summer transfer window. Mount is likely to leave Chelsea after talks over a contract extension failed, with Manchester United now considered the favourites to sign him. Liverpool were previously interested in signing the 24-year-old, but Hamann believes that Joelinton would be a better option for the club due to his physical presence and ability to score goals. The Brazilian has impressed under Eddie Howe, registering eight goals and three assists this season. However, Hamann acknowledges that it may be difficult for Liverpool to sign Joelinton as he is playing Champions League football with Newcastle next season.
