Sean Dyche, manager of Everton, has expressed his hope that Dele Alli will use his time on the sidelines wisely after the former England midfielder returned to the Toffees for treatment on an injury sustained while on loan at Besiktas. Dyche said Alli’s injury will keep him out for “a number of weeks” and suggested the 27-year-old should be aware of “what he should and shouldn’t be doing”.
Alli joined Everton from Tottenham in January 2022 and has only played 13 times for Turkish side Besiktas this season. Reports have suggested that manager Senol Gunes is unhappy with Alli’s application and has banished him from the first team.
Dyche has urged Alli to use his time away from the pitch to reflect on his actions and to make sure he is doing all he can to get back to full fitness. The Everton manager believes Alli should be aware of the importance of his behaviour both on and off the pitch, and that he should take responsibility for his actions.
The Toffees boss also said that Alli should use his time out of action to work on his fitness and ensure he is in the best possible shape when he returns to the pitch. Dyche believes that Alli should be focused on getting back to full fitness as soon as possible and that he should use this time to make sure he is ready to perform at his best when he is able to return.
Alli’s return to Everton provides an opportunity for him to get back to full fitness and to prove his worth to both the Toffees and Besiktas. Dyche has made it clear that he expects Alli to use this time wisely and that he should be aware of what he should and shouldn’t be doing.
