Brighton & Hove Albion boss Roberto de Zerbi was full of praise for his side after they secured a historic 3-1 win over Southampton on Sunday, which saw them qualify for European football for the first time in their history. De Zerbi described the victory as “incredible” and hailed his players for their efforts. The Seagulls took the lead through Danny Welbeck’s header before Danny Ings equalised for the Saints. However, a Pascal Gross penalty and a late strike from Leandro Trossard sealed the win for Brighton.
De Zerbi said: “It’s an incredible feeling to qualify for Europe for the first time in our history. The players have worked so hard to get here and I’m so proud of them. It’s a great achievement and we will enjoy this moment.”
