Former England star Danny Rose is currently training with National League team York City. The 32-year-old has been without a club since his contract was mutually terminated at Watford in September. Rose, who hails from Doncaster, Yorkshire, is believed to be training with the team to build up his fitness at this stage.
Rose recently appeared as a pundit for Sky Sports on his old club Tottenham as they crashed out of the Champions League against AC Milan. He played for Spurs for 13 seasons, racking up 214 appearances. During his time at the club, he had loan spells at Sunderland, Newcastle, Bristol City, Peterborough, and Watford.
Rose also earned 29 caps for his country and played five times at the 2018 World Cup. He signed for Watford on a free transfer two summers ago but made just nine appearances as the Hertfordshire side were relegated to the Championship.
York City is currently managed by interim boss Michael Morton. Morton joined the club in December as assistant manager, having previously spent time as Youth Development Phase Lead coach at Leeds. He joined the Whites in 2005 while Rose was coming through at the club. Rose went on to sign for Spurs in 2006 after failing to make a senior appearance for Leeds.
Morton was named interim manager at York last month after the club sacked David Webb. The Minstermen are currently 18th in the National League table.
