New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones Undergoes ACL Surgery
The New York Giants announced on Wednesday that their quarterback, Daniel Jones, has undergone surgery to repair his ACL. Here are the key details:
Recovery Timeline
- During an interview on the “Up and Adams” podcast, Jones revealed that his recovery is expected to take between eight to ten months. If everything goes well, he could be ready for the start of training camp. However, if there are any complications, his return may be delayed until the beginning of the next season.
- Jones expressed his determination to work diligently on his recovery, stating, “We’ll approach it day by day and do everything we can to get back as quickly as possible.”
Injury Details
Jones suffered his ACL tear during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 5. Giants coach Brian Daboll confirmed the following day that Jones would be out for the remainder of the season.
Backstory
During the Raiders game, Jones was slow to get up after being sacked by Maxx Crosby in the second quarter. Although he continued playing, Jones went down untouched on the next play, limped to the sideline, and did not return in the second half.
In addition to his ACL injury, Jones also missed three games earlier in the season due to a neck injury sustained in a Week 5 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
With a current record of 3-8, the Giants are currently in last place in the NFC East.
