Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has fired a warning to Premier League leaders Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Anfield.
The last time Jurgen Klopp’s team played at home they demolished Manchester United 7-0 in a historic victory.
They have failed to register a win in four games on the road since with defeats to Bournemouth, Real Madrid and Manchester City before a draw with Chelsea.
But Jones, 22, has warned Arsenal that Liverpool ‘turn up in big games’ as Klopp’s eighth-placed side look to go on a late run and secure a top-four finish.
‘Of course it is possible,’ Jones told the Liverpool Echo about their hopes of Champions League qualification.
‘We’ve seen we’re a team who have done it all in the past and we can do it again.
‘The lads, like I said there, I just think it is a small blip and we turn up in big games. We turn up in big games and it’s Arsenal next, so we’ll see.’
It will be no easy task against Arsenal, who are eight points clear at the top of the table as they look to secure their first Premier League trophy since 2004.
Jamie Carragher has warned Arsenal that Liverpool will beat them on Sunday while Gary Neville feels the Gunners will win the league if they walk away with a victory.
Ian Wright, meanwhile, says he is ‘confident’ Arsenal will continue their Premier League title charge by beating Liverpool.
