Crystal Palace is prepared to entertain offers for their star forwards, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, but only if the bids start at £60 million or more for each player. Despite securing their 12th season of Premier League football and not being in a financially desperate situation, the club acknowledges that offers are likely to come in for the talented duo this summer. Palace believes that £60 million per player is a fair starting price for negotiations.
Both Eze and Olise signed long-term contracts this season, putting Palace in a strong negotiating position. Unlike some contracts that include release clauses, theirs do not, making any potential deal complex. There are various parties involved, including the players themselves, their former clubs, and Crystal Palace.
Last summer, Manchester City showed interest in Eze, but they ended up signing Matheus Nunes from Wolves instead. Chelsea also attempted to sign Olise for around £35 million, mistakenly believing they had triggered his release clause. However, both players are content at Palace and are focused on choosing a team that will allow them to showcase their abilities and attacking flair.
Pundit Danny Murphy was full of praise for Eze after their win against West Ham, describing him as a “Champions League player” and predicting that he won’t be at Palace next season. There is a noticeable difference in Crystal Palace’s style of play when neither Olise nor Eze are on the pitch. In the six Premier League games they have started together, they have contributed to 13 out of 14 goals scored or assisted.
Eze and Olise are part of Crystal Palace’s successful signings from the Championship under sporting director Dougie Freedman. Alongside them, the club has also acquired Marc Guehi from Chelsea after his loan spell at Swansea and Adam Wharton from Blackburn. Wharton has impressed since his £18 million move and has caught the attention of other Premier League teams. His passing ability in midfield has allowed Eze and Olise to thrive in dangerous areas.
Another player who could attract transfer bids this summer is England international Guehi. The 23-year-old defender has been excellent since joining Palace in 2021 and has even earned recognition from the England national team. With the Euros approaching, Guehi has a good chance of making Gareth Southgate’s squad. He also has two years remaining on his contract, adding to his appeal in the transfer market.
