Cristiano Ronaldo will ask for an ‘immediate’ Manchester United exit from Erik ten Hag upon his return to England.
The Portuguese is yet to work under the new manager having yet to report for pre-season training, with a family issue being cited as the reason for Ronaldo’s absence.
It was reported that Ronaldo was expected in Manchester on Monday amid growing speculation surrounding his future at the club.
talkSPORT understands Ronaldo has already informed the Red Devils of his wish to leave this summer if a suitable offer arrives. Man United have made it clear their player is not for sale.
However, The Sun reports Ronaldo will make his stance clear once again and demand an Old Trafford exit once again.
The report adds United are willing to accept a loan move for the upcoming season so he can play in Europe’s top club competition, with Atletico Madrid are the latest club to have been linked with him.
However, that would only happen if he was to commit for another year, meaning he would still be a player at the club at 39 years old.
Although Ronaldo is yet to reunite with his Man United teammates it’s understood that contact between chief executive Richard Arnold and the player’s agent Jorge Mendes has been ongoing throughout the summer.

Man United players were given Monday off after flying back from their Australia but will report back for training on Tuesday ahead of their final two pre-season matches.
It’s not clear if he will train with the team on Tuesday, however, he’s expected to have a face-to-face conversation with manager Erik ten Hag in the coming days.
Ten Hag, speaking in Melbourne on July 18, said: “I am well informed, he also has also an option (of another year).
“Yes (he could stay beyond this season), but to be honest, of course, I have signed here for three years, but in football it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don’t look that far ahead.
“I have a strategy, it’s a process, it takes time but in the end, we have to make sure from the outset there is a winning team.”
Ronaldo enjoyed a good first season back at Man United, finishing as their top scorer in all competitions with 24 strikes.
However, his efforts weren’t enough to help them qualify for the Champions League with Man United finishing a disappointing sixth place in the Premier League.
They begin their 2022/23 campaign with a trip to Brighton on Sunday August 7.
