Clarkson to buy Alpine team beers after Ocon’s impressive performance at Monaco GP

Jeremy Clarkson, the journalist and TV presenter, is set to honour his promise to buy beers for the entire Alpine F1 team after Esteban Ocon secured a podium finish in the Monaco Grand Prix. Ocon finished third in the race, alongside Fernando Alonso and winner Max Verstappen, after starting in third place on the grid. Despite being put under pressure by Mercedes star George Russell, Ocon managed to hold onto his position on the track and secure the podium finish. During the race, Clarkson tweeted that he would buy the team a pint if they achieved a podium finish. He later tweeted that he would follow through on his promise, owing the team many bottles of his bespoke home-grown beer, Hawkstones. With 1000 members of staff in the Alpine team, Clarkson’s vow looks set to cost him £2500.
