Chelsea Unlikely to Enter Race for Dusan Vlahovic This Summer

Chelsea Football Club has reportedly held discussions about potentially signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. However, it seems unlikely that the Premier League club will enter the race for the Serbian international this summer.

Vlahovic joined Juventus from Fiorentina 18 months ago in a £62.8 million transfer. However, he has struggled to live up to expectations, scoring only 17 goals in his 42 Serie A appearances for the Turin giants. Juventus is keen to recoup a significant portion of the fee they paid for the 23-year-old, but it appears that the anticipated bidding war for his services is unlikely to materialize.

Arsenal, who were previously interested in Vlahovic when he expressed his desire to leave Fiorentina, are no longer in need of a center forward. On the other hand, Chelsea has been put off by the player’s salary demands, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Chelsea has been focused on reducing their wage bill over the past year, which played a role in their decision to sell Mason Mount to Manchester United. The club is unwilling to jeopardize the stability they are close to achieving by making a big-money signing. Several high-profile players, including N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, and Kalidou Koulibaly, have already left Stamford Bridge this summer, and more departures are expected in the coming weeks.

Ironically, Romelu Lukaku, who could potentially replace Vlahovic at Juventus, is rumored to be heading to Paris Saint-Germain. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also close to sealing a move to Marseille.

Chelsea recently confirmed their squad for their upcoming pre-season tour of America, which included several big-name absentees. The squad looks ill-prepared ahead of the new campaign, and senior players are said to be seeking assurances that reinforcements are on the way.

Despite their hesitancy to pursue Vlahovic, Chelsea has already made some additions to their squad. Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have joined the club, and negotiations with Brighton for a move for Moises Caicedo are ongoing.

In conclusion, it seems unlikely that Chelsea will enter the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer. The club’s focus on reducing their wage bill and the player’s salary demands have put them off pursuing the Juventus striker. However, Chelsea has already made some additions to their squad and is expected to make further moves in the transfer market.
