Chelsea will be in desperate need of three valuable points when they host AC Milan in the Champions League this evening.

The Premier League side started their European campaign with a 1-0 away defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, which ultimately proved the final straw which resulted in the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel just hours later.

In Graham Potter’s first match in charge, the Blues could only manage a 1-1 draw with Salzburg at Stamford Bridge after Raheem Sterling’s opener was cancelled out in the second half by the visitors.

Meanwhile, the Italian champions have picked up four points from their first two group stage matches and have started their Serie A title defence with five wins from eight.

Here is your brief ahead of tonight’s showdown in west London.

What time does Chelsea vs AC Milan start?

Chelsea vs Milan will take place today (October 5).

The Group E clash will kick-off at 8pm at Stamford Bridge.

    What is the team news?

Chelsea could be without Marc Cucurella who has been struggling with the throat problem which kept him out of the weekend win against Crystal Palace.

This could mean England defender Ben Chilwell keeps his place in the starting XI as a result.

N’Golo Kante is back in training but Potter may look to ease the Frenchman back into action, while the manager will have a decision to make between the sticks with first choice Edouard Mendy close to a return from a knee injury.
