Chelsea v Udinese live stream: Thomas Tuchel expresses concern after pre-season turmoil as Blues head to Italy after Arsenal defeat – UK kick-off time, team news and how to follow

Chelsea will hope to put their disappointing tour of the USA behind them by travelling to Italy to take on Udinese later this week.

It has been a turbulent pre-season for Thomas Tuchel’s side with the Blues struggling for both results and to make the signings they want.

Chelsea have made two signings in the shape of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly after missing out on a number of other targets.

Results in pre-season have also been poor and have included a defeat on penalties to Charlotte, a narrow 2-1 win over Club America and a 4-0 drubbing to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Tuchel admitted he was worried about Chelsea following the loss to their London rivals, with less than two weeks to go until the season starts.

    Chelsea vs Udinese: Team news

Blues new signing Koulibaly will be hoping to earn his first start for the club after making his debut in the defeat to Arsenal.

Ben Chilwell was rested for that game and could feature but Ross Barkley is still struggling with a hamstring problem.

N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are both unavailable having not travelled to the United States due to their Covid vaccination status.

Elsewhere, Armando Broja will also not be involved having flown back to England amid speculation linking him with a move to West Ham.

Chelsea vs Udinese: What has been said?

Ex-Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino revealed his concern that his old club’s turmoil off the pitch risks spilling over onto it.

He told talkSPORT: “So much uncertainty within that squad. Take Timo Werner, who has made it quite clear he’d like to move on and play elsewhere as he wants more game time ahead of the World Cup.

“That’s littered in Chelsea’s squad, way too many.

“You also have to add in departures at the top end of the club. That doesn’t always affect what happens on the field, but from Bruce Buck to Marina to Petr Cech, there’s too much change at Chelsea.

    “It’s becoming a bit messy.”
