Edouard Mendy was at fault for West Ham’s equaliser on Saturday.
And his recent form has been questioned by pundits and supporters.
However, boss Tuchel is standing by his man – who is performing admirably in training.
“I think at the moment he is a bit unlucky in what he is doing,” Tuchel said after the game.
“In training, he is fantastic, and he is, in general, a very calm and self-reflective guy who is aware that he lacks a little bit of luck at the moment.”
Chelsea tried to sign Romeo Lavia on transfer deadline day and made a £50m proposal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
However, his club Southampton refused the offer.
Romano claims: “Southampton invested £12m plus add-ons for Lavia — and Man City have £40m buy back clause.”
Chelsea’s head of international scouts Scott McLachlan has left the West London club, according to The Athletic.
David Ornstein reports that the decision was made by McLachlan – who harboured intentions of leaving on his own terms.
He had been in the role since the 2011-12 season, where he recruited a number of top players.
His last day was reportedly Friday and he’s set for three months of gardening leave.
Armando Broja signed a new six-year deal with the Blues to stay at Stamford Bridge, after being linked with a move away this summer.
And when he spoke to Chelsea’s website, he immediately revealed who has been his biggest supporter in the first team.
He thanked Cesar Azpilicueta for his role in helping him feel at ease among the senior pros.
“He’s always so welcoming. He’s always helping the young players out, always trying to take the pressure off you. He’s a really good guy in terms of helping me from 2018 until now,” Broja said.
