Noni Madueke studying Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe to reach full potential
Chelsea star Noni Madueke has revealed he is studying Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe in order to reach his full potential.
Madueke, who can operate as a right winger or centre-forward, arrived at Stamford Bridge in January following a £35m move from Dutch side PSV.
The England U21 international has made 16 appearances for the Blues so far, registering two goals.
Madueke Watching Clips of Salah and Mbappe
Madueke now wants to take his game to the next level and has been watching clips of both Salah and Mbappe, who he is looking to emulate.
‘I look at the best,’ Madueke said. ‘James Ryder, our analyst, clipped up Mbappe and Salah, so I watch them a lot.
‘The way they always follow their pass into the box, or when a team-mate is in the box, they’re always there to anticipate.
‘One thing I’ve got to add to my game is the easier goals, the one-touch goals – that’s what I’m trying to improve.
‘I know I go at such a pace so sometimes I’ve got to calm down at the last moment, take a breath and then slot it away. I’ve just got to keep working so I can do it at Chelsea.’
Chelsea Turning a Corner
Chelsea endured a slow start to the season under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino but appear to have turned a corner after winning their last three games across all competitions, including top-flight wins over Fulham and Burnley.
The west Londoners face a huge test after the international break, though, when they host unbeaten Arsenal at Stamford Bridge next week.
