Reports from Portugal suggest that Chelsea has agreed on a deal to sign Benfica winger Diego Moreira this summer. The 18-year-old’s contract with the Portuguese club is set to expire at the end of the season, and he has decided not to extend his deal. Record reports that Chelsea has beaten competition from Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan to sign Moreira once his contract with Benfica ends. Although Moreira made his senior debut for Benfica last year, he has yet to make a first-team appearance this season and has been a regular for the club’s B team. The Belgian-born player has represented Portugal Under-16s and Under-18s at the international level. However, he will face a tough challenge breaking into Chelsea’s first-team squad this summer, given the number of attacking players already at Stamford Bridge.
