Sporting midfielder Manuel Ugarte is a top target for Chelsea this summer, with the club increasing their salary offer to €3.5million per year, in addition to performance-based incentives and bonuses. The Blues have already signalled their intent to activate the 22-year-old’s release clause, but their offer still falls short of the €5m package offered by Paris Saint-Germain. However, Ugarte is said to prefer a move to the Premier League, and Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken to the player directly to help push through the deal. The Blues are also eager to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo for around £80m.
