“Chelsea may sell Conor Gallagher as Liverpool and Newcastle show interest”

According to reports, Chelsea is considering selling Conor Gallagher to help balance their books. The midfielder has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle and Liverpool. Gallagher still has two years left on his contract, but Chelsea has not initiated any talks about an extension. The club sees offloading academy graduates as a way to increase profits. Chelsea is under pressure from Financial Fair Play rules after spending over £600million in the previous two transfer windows. The Blues are currently 11th in the Premier League and are likely to miss out on European football and the revenue it generates. Gallagher has also caught the attention of Everton, Brighton, and Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool is keen to freshen up their midfield, but no enquiry has been made yet. Newcastle is also interested in Gallagher and his teammate Mason Mount, who is stalling over a new deal. However, Mount’s £70m asking price has led Eddie Howe to believe that he will stay at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea could potentially sell several players this summer, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Edouard Mendy, and Armando Broja. Despite the club’s desire to keep homegrown defender Levi Colwill, he could be sold this summer as he is currently on loan at Brighton.
