Chelsea Striker Armando Broja Available for Sale or Loan
Chelsea is actively seeking a buyer for Armando Broja and is now willing to accept a reduced asking price or even a loan deal, according to reports. The 22-year-old has made 13 Premier League appearances this season after recovering from a long-term injury and has earned the trust of manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Chelsea sees Broja, along with fellow academy graduate Conor Gallagher, as a means to balance their books and comply with financial fair play rules. Any sale of Broja would count as pure profit for the club. Several clubs, including West Ham, Fulham, and Wolves, have expressed interest in acquiring Broja’s services.
Initially, Chelsea was holding out for a minimum of £50 million for the forward. However, the situation has changed, and the club is now willing to sell Broja for around £35 million or allow him to leave on an initial loan. Chelsea understands the financial challenges faced by other clubs and is willing to assist potential suitors by accepting a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the summer.
This arrangement would enable Chelsea to balance their books immediately and potentially reinvest in new players this month. The club has previously executed a similar deal when they allowed Lewis Hall to move to Newcastle on loan. However, this time, Chelsea is likely to demand an obligation-to-buy clause to ensure Broja’s permanent transfer.
The reduced asking price of £35 million aligns with Broja’s performance this season, where he has only scored two goals. Additionally, he is still regaining his sharpness after a major injury last year. While Broja’s potential exit may leave Chelsea with limited options in the short term, manager Mauricio Pochettino has emphasized the need for improvement and hard work from the young striker.
