Florent Malouda predicts Chelsea will finish in top four ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United

Florent Malouda has boldly claimed that his former club Chelsea will secure a top-four finish at the expense of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Chelsea’s start to life under Mauricio Pochettino has been interesting to say the least, with the performances in their opening two games showing much promise but there is still a long way to go.

The results haven’t been great though, with a respectable home draw against Liverpool followed up by a surprising 3-1 defeat at West Ham, with several stars making poor individual errors.

Chelsea’s Big Spending Spree

The Blues have spent big yet again under Todd Boehly as they look to bounce back after a torrid 2022/23 campaign where they finished 12th and struggled under three different managers.

And Malouda believes Pochettino’s coaching style will work wonders and that the squad are already buying into his philosophy, telling Betway: ‘Pochettino already seems to be listening to his players, that’s what I can see so far with his communication.

‘That doesn’t mean he’s not demanding, but he creates an environment for the players to feel good.

‘You can see he respects his players, and that’s why he says he can’t have too many players. They are giving their all to him because they want to give that respect back.’

Chelsea’s Top Four Prediction

Nevertheless, Chelsea face a huge battle to reach their target of a top-four finish, with the likes of Arsenal, United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and even Brighton and Aston Villa all expected to be in the running for the Champions League spots.
