Reports suggest that Chelsea are preparing to make a move for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga. The club is said to be prioritising the signing of at least one new central midfielder, and Veiga is now their target. However, Chelsea will face competition from Liverpool and Barcelona, with Liverpool expected to work on a move for Veiga once they have finalised their deal to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton. Veiga has a €40m (£34.4m) buyout clause in his deal with Celta Vigo, and still has three years remaining on his contract. Meanwhile, Chelsea are facing the prospect of losing N’Golo Kante, as Saudi side Al-Ittihad have offered the midfielder a two-year deal worth around £86m a year.
