Chelsea in the running for Kylian Mbappe as PSG departure looms

Kylian Mbappe is set to be a hot commodity in the upcoming transfer window, with Chelsea registering their interest in the Paris Saint-Germain superstar. Mbappe has informed PSG that he will not be extending his contract with the club, which expires in 2024, and the French club is willing to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year. Real Madrid has long been interested in Mbappe, but Chelsea and Manchester United are also likely to make bids for the striker. Despite Chelsea’s willingness to invest heavily, a move to Stamford Bridge seems unlikely for Mbappe as they cannot offer Champions League football. Manchester City, who had previously shown interest in Mbappe, are unlikely to make a move now that they have Erling Haaland up front. Mbappe had an excellent season with PSG, scoring 41 goals in 43 appearances and taking his tally for the club to 212 goals in 260 games across all competitions.
