Chelsea have reportedly opened negotiations with Southampton over a potential move for midfielder Romeo Lavia. The 19-year-old, who signed a five-year contract with the Saints last summer after leaving Manchester City, is seen as a valuable asset by the relegated club, who are said to be demanding as much as £50m for him. This is partly due to clauses in his contract, including a 25% sell-on fee for City and a £40m buy-back clause for the Premier League champions. Chelsea are also said to be interested in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, who could cost over £70m.
