Chelsea Fans Demand Pochettino’s Dismissal and Criticize Owner Boehly in Passionate Chants
Chelsea fans made their frustrations known as they directed x-rated chants at manager Mauricio Pochettino and owner Todd Boehly during the team’s 2-2 draw against Brentford. The Blues have been struggling recently, and the fans let their opinions be heard at the Gtech Stadium.
The chants began with the fans taking aim at Boehly, chanting “Boehly, you’re a c***” and following it up with singing the name of previous chief Roman Abramovich. However, Boehly was not present at the game, leaving the fans to express their dissatisfaction without a direct target.
But the fans didn’t stop there. They also called for Pochettino’s dismissal, singing “f*** off Mauricio” instead of wishing him a happy 52nd birthday. The fans clearly believe that a change in leadership is necessary for the club’s success.
Pochettino addressed the fan anger after the game, stating that he is not worried about it. He acknowledged that the relationship between the fans and the team can be built through winning games, and he will continue to work towards changing the negative perception.
However, Chelsea’s struggles cannot be ignored. Currently sitting 11th in the table, the team has failed to live up to expectations. Since Boehly took over as owner two years ago, he has spent a total of £1 billion on players. This lavish spending has led to some labeling the team as “billion-pound bottlejobs,” a term coined by Gary Neville after their recent loss to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Despite the criticism and fan demands for change, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will make any significant adjustments in management. Pochettino’s future at the club hangs in the balance, and the fans’ passion will continue to be vocal until improvements are made on the field.
