Chelsea Fans Boo Players and Stage Mass Exodus After Another Defeat at Half-Time

Chelsea fans were left disappointed and frustrated after their team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brentford. The fans booed off the players at half-time and many staged a mass exodus from the stadium. The team’s manager, Frank Lampard, named a strange line-up without a striker and played N’Golo Kante and Conor Gallagher behind Raheem Sterling. Despite having 68% possession in the first half and managing seven shots, Chelsea failed to score. Brentford scored their only goal of the first half from a corner that was flicked on by Mathias Jorgensen and hit Cesar Azpilicueta on the shoulder before edging past Kepa Arrizabalaga. In the second half, Bryan Mbeumo scored another goal for Brentford, securing their fifth consecutive win. Chelsea has not won a match since March 11 and has scored just three goals in eight matches. Under Lampard’s leadership, the team has scored just one goal. The Blues last lost five games in a row in November 1993 and last scored one goal or fewer over a seven-game run in December 1993. Chelsea’s next match is against Arsenal in the Premier League.
