Chelsea Abandon Attempt to Sign Dusan Vlahovic in Lukaku Exchange Deal

Chelsea Football Club has reportedly decided to abandon its pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic as part of a potential exchange deal with Juventus for Romelu Lukaku. According to reports in Italy, the Premier League club is no longer interested in signing the Serbian striker.

Lukaku, on the other hand, has already agreed to personal terms with Juventus. However, the Serie A club has been unable to reach an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of the Belgian international.

The decision to abandon the pursuit of Vlahovic comes as Chelsea’s attacking options have been limited due to Christopher Nkunku’s injury. The midfielder is expected to be sidelined for around three months after undergoing knee surgery.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Chelsea has informed Juventus that they will not proceed with the move for Vlahovic unless the Italian club significantly lowers their asking price. Juventus is demanding a fee of €40 million (£34m) for Vlahovic, in addition to Lukaku, but Chelsea is only willing to offer €25 million (£21.5m) with add-ons included.

It is worth noting that Juventus signed Vlahovic from Fiorentina for €75 million (£62.8m) in January last year. Despite Chelsea’s interest, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his satisfaction with the squad and stated that he would be happy to keep Vlahovic for the upcoming season.

Juve fans have been vocal in their opposition to the signing of Lukaku this summer. Last month, supporters held a protest outside the club’s medical center, and during a pre-season friendly at the Allianz Stadium, they chanted “we don’t want Lukaku.”

As the negotiations between Chelsea and Juventus continue, it remains to be seen whether a deal for Lukaku will be reached. The transfer saga has captured the attention of football fans around the world, and both clubs are under pressure to secure a favorable outcome.

In conclusion, Chelsea’s decision to abandon their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic in the Romelu Lukaku exchange deal with Juventus comes as a surprise. The club’s limited attacking options and Nkunku’s injury had prompted them to identify Vlahovic as a potential addition to the squad. However, Chelsea’s unwillingness to meet Juventus’ asking price has led to the breakdown of negotiations. The Lukaku transfer saga continues to unfold, with Juventus facing pressure from their own fans to scrap their efforts to sign the Belgian striker. Football fans around the world eagerly await the outcome of these negotiations.
